The Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade
A modified route through Glenside featuring Abington and Cheltenham Fire Departments. Our Fire Departments will parade starting at the VFW down Jenkintown Road, turning left onto Abington Ave, and proceeding to the Abington Middle and High School complex.
7:00 – 9:00 PM

About the Event
Scheduled for each July 4th, the three-tiered event features a grand starburst of patriotism, starting with a morning children’s program in Renninger Memorial Park, then a huge, colorful parade at 4 p.m. and finally an after-dark fireworks spectacular above Abington High School’s athletic and playing fields. All are admission-free and sponsored by the non-profit Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) and its volunteer membership.
Over recent years the community’s action-filled July 4th observance has drawn record-breaking crowds while becoming the biggest, family friendly Independence Day Celebration in Greater Philadelphia’s tri-state suburbs.
March in the Parade
Organizations, bands, scout troops, floats, and community groups are welcome to join Glenside’s Independence Day parade. Register your group and be part of one of the nation’s oldest July 4th traditions.
