10:00 AM: Children's Morning Program held at Renninger Memorial Park

4:00 PM: The Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade held on a 1.5-mile stretch through Glenside (Click here to see a map of the parade route)

After Dark: America the Beautiful Aerial Fireworks Spectacular held at Abington Junior and Senior High Schools

About the event

Scheduled for each July 4th, the three-tiered event features a grand starburst of patriotism, starting with a morning children's program in a local park, then a huge, colorful parade at 4 p.m. and finally an after-dark fireworks spectacular above Abington High School's athletic and playing fields.  All are admission-free and sponsored by the non-profit Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) and its volunteer membership.

Over recent years the community's action-filled July 4th observance has drawn record-breaking crowds while becoming the biggest, family friendly Independence Day Celebration in Greater Philadelphia's tri-state suburbs.
